Team Philippines picked up two more silver medals at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand, thanks to standout performances in both taekwondo and swimming.

In taekwondo, the trio of Rodolfo Reyes, King Nash Alcairo, and Ian Corton powered their way to a silver finish in the Recognized Team Poomsae event. Their crisp execution and seamless synchronization impressed the judges and continued the squad’s strong start in this year’s Games. The team’s momentum is building, marking what officials describe as a breakthrough showing for the Philippines in poomsae.

Meanwhile, the country celebrated its first swimming medal of the competition after Gian Santos delivered a gutsy performance in the men’s 200-meter Individual Medley. Finishing with a time of 2:03.88, Santos clinched the silver, putting the Philippines on the swimming medal board early on.

With these back-to-back silver medals, Team Philippines continues to gain steam as the Games progress, raising hopes for more podium finishes in the coming days.
