PHLPost Halts Mail And Parcel Acceptance To The U.S. Amid New Customs Rules

The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has announced a temporary suspension on accepting all mail and parcels bound for the United States of America (USA). This took effect last August 28 and will continue until further notice.
This decision comes in response to recent changes in U.S. customs regulations, including the suspension of the duty-free de minimis exemption and the introduction of new customs requirements. These adjustments aim to prevent delays and ensure compliance with international shipping standards.
What does this mean for senders? If you have already lodged an item for delivery to the USA on or after August 22, 2025, you can request retrieval and a refund by following PHLPost’s existing guidelines and submitting the necessary documents.
The suspension applies to all postal items—including letters, documents, and parcels—destined for the United States. PHLPost assures customers that updates will be provided as soon as services resume.
In the meantime, PHLPost asks for the public’s understanding and cooperation during this period of adjustment.
