The young athletes of Alas Pilipinas U16 showcased their skill and determination at the 2025 Asian Women’s U16 Volleyball Championship in Amman, Jordan (Nov 1‑8).

They secured a strong 25‑21, 25‑22, 25‑22 win over Iran in the preliminary round, earning a spot in the Final 8 pool stage. There, they faced tough competition from Japan, Chinese Taipei, and Thailand. Their campaign saw a setback when they were defeated by Chinese Taipei 14‑25, 21‑25, 15‑25, exiting title contention.

Earlier reports of a straight‑sets victory over Hong Kong (25‑20, 25‑19, 25‑10) in the 5th‑8th classification round could not be verified in official sources, so the team’s final placement is yet to be confirmed.

Coach Edwin Leyva and the squad are being recognized for their growth, composure, and fighting spirit, which promise a bright future for Philippine youth volleyball.
