The Philippine National Police (PNP) is pulling out all the stops to ensure peace and safety during the upcoming three-day religious rally at Rizal Park on November 16, 17, and 18, where an estimated 300,000 faithful are expected to gather.
In line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to safeguard large public events, the PNP has been conducting a series of coordination meetings with the Manila City Government and event organizers to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Nearly 10,000 police personnel from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) will be deployed to secure the area. The deployment includes crowd control teams, traffic enforcers, K9 units, medical responders, and quick reaction forces — all geared toward maintaining order throughout the event.
According to Acting PNP Chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., the police are fully prepared to keep the rally peaceful and organized.
“Our role is protection and service,” Nartatez said. “We’re here to make sure everyone can freely express their faith in peace and safety. All we ask is for everyone’s cooperation.”
To strengthen readiness, nearby police units will be placed on heightened alert to ensure fast response and sufficient backup when needed.
PNP Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño also reminded the public to follow security measures and respect crowd management rules.
“Security isn’t just the job of the police — it’s everyone’s responsibility,” Tuaño said. “If we all cooperate and follow safety protocols, we can keep the entire community safe.”
Motorists are advised to expect heavy traffic and possible road adjustments around Rizal Park during the event. The PNP will soon release traffic advisories and rerouting plans, along with details on entry and exit points for rally participants.
With massive preparations underway, the PNP assures the public that this three-day celebration of faith will be peaceful, orderly, and safe for everyone.
