In a strategic move that highlights the growing importance of sustainability in business operations, Vantage Energy has been selected to power 35 key properties of the Gokongwei Group across the Philippines. This initiative supports the conglomerate’s broader vision of embedding environmental responsibility into its core operations.

Vantage Energy, a retail electricity supplier (RES) affiliated with the Manila Electric Company (Meralco), will supply power—partly sourced from renewable energy—to a wide range of properties under the Gokongwei Group. These include sites operated by Robinsons Land Corporation, Robinsons Supermarket Corporation, and Universal Robina Corporation (URC).

At the ceremonial signing of the Retail Electricity Supply Agreement (RESA), JG Summit Holdings Inc. President and CEO Lance Y. Gokongwei underscored the partnership’s significance. “This commitment to renewable energy empowers the Gokongwei Group to wholeheartedly pursue our sustainability targets, knowing that we have strong, forward-thinking partners aligned with our environmental stewardship goals,” he shared.

Robinsons Land, the group’s real estate arm, spans residential, commercial, office, and hospitality developments nationwide. Meanwhile, URC is a leading player in the food and beverage industry across ASEAN, and Robinsons Supermarket operates one of the country’s most widespread grocery chains. Supplying energy to such a diverse and large-scale portfolio is no small feat—and Vantage Energy is stepping up to the challenge.

Ernesto M. Cabral, President of Vantage Energy, emphasized the long-term nature of the collaboration. “Our partnership spans over half a decade now with contestable properties recently added—some of which are already transitioning to renewable energy supply. This expansion reflects our aligned commitment to transforming shared values into meaningful, measurable progress toward a sustainable future,” he said.

Beyond reliable and cost-effective power, Vantage Energy’s impact reaches into the community through its corporate social responsibility efforts—reinforcing its role not just as an energy provider, but as a partner in national progress.

The RESA signing was attended by key executives from both sides, including Meralco Chairman and CEO Manuel V. Pangilinan and top leaders from the Gokongwei Group. This moment marks more than a business deal—it’s a shared step toward a more energy-resilient and environmentally responsible Philippines.
