President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. extended his greetings to all Filipinos as the nation commemorates National Heroes Day 2025, paying tribute not only to the heroes of the past but also to the modern-day heroes who continue to contribute to nation-building.
“I stand in solidarity with the entire Filipino people as we commemorate National Heroes Day. Today, we join the entire country in honoring the lives of exemplary Filipinos who selflessly offered themselves for the good of our nation,” the President said in his message.
Marcos highlighted that the sacrifices of the country’s heroes were acts of courage driven by deep love for the nation—actions that helped shape the country’s identity and destiny. He emphasized that nation-building is an unending endeavor, requiring the presence of heroes in every era.
According to the President, these heroes are not limited to those who fought in wars but include Filipinos who serve the country every day in various fields. He expressed his gratitude to farmers, fisherfolk, teachers, soldiers, law enforcers, scientists, workers, and ordinary citizens who continue to show heroism through dedication and service.
“As we continue on our journey of nationhood, let us emulate their examples by manifesting our patriotism through acts of genuine service to our people. Through simple but meaningful acts of compassion for our fellow Filipinos, we can become the heroes of our generation and bring forth the Bagong Pilipinas we aspire for,” Marcos said.
The President concluded his message with a call for unity and commitment to the ideals of the country’s forebears.
“Mabuhay ang Bayaning Pilipino! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!” he declared.
