In a demonstration of the administration’s continuing commitment to education, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. visited the Temporary Learning Spaces (TLS) in Barangay Sagonsongan, Marawi City, on June 23, 2025. The visit underscores the government’s efforts to ensure that no Filipino learner is left behind, particularly those still recovering from the aftermath of the 2017 Marawi siege.

During the visit, President Marcos Jr. toured the TLS site, where five schools currently hold classes for approximately 720 students. These learning spaces serve as a vital stopgap for communities whose schools were damaged or rendered unusable due to conflict. The TLS initiative, launched in the wake of the Marawi siege, provides safe, functional, and adaptable learning environments made from tents, modular units, or repurposed structures—ensuring that education continues uninterrupted.

Highlighting the importance of digital inclusion in modern learning, the President also oversaw the installation of a Starlink internet unit at the TLS—a personal donation aimed at providing reliable internet connectivity to both students and teachers. He further extended this support by donating one Starlink unit each to four schools located in remote areas of Marawi: Bangon Elementary School, Bacarat National High School, Angoyao National High School, and Cabasaran Primary School.

Beyond connectivity, the President, through the Office of the President, also ensured that all students enrolled in the TLS received school bags complete with essential supplies—providing not just tools for learning but a message of hope and continued support.

The visit reaffirms the administration’s commitment to rebuilding Marawi and prioritizing education as a cornerstone of national recovery and development. Through efforts like these, the government seeks to bridge educational gaps and empower communities to move forward, one classroom at a time.
