President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. personally visited the Cebu Provincial Hospital in Bogo City, offering a message of support and immediate assistance to patients and staff. The President went straight to the makeshift wards set up in the hospital's parking area, taking time to personally check on the patients and their families.
The visit was marked by the distribution of critical aid led by President Marcos Jr. and spearheaded by the DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development). The assistance package included PhP10,000 in financial assistance and burial services for bereaved families. Furthermore, the Mobile Kitchen Program provided hot meals, alongside the distribution of nearly 1,700 family food packs.
To ensure continuous medical services and prompt facility restoration, the DOH (Department of Health) and DPWH (Department of Public Works and Highways) are providing immediate and ongoing support.
In a significant move to bolster the affected healthcare system, the Office of the President committed substantial financial backing: PhP20 million is earmarked for all affected DOH hospitals, and PhP5 million will be allocated to provincial hospitals. This funding is intended to guarantee the uninterrupted delivery of medical services and facilitate the immediate rehabilitation of the hospital facilities.
The President's visit underscores the administration's commitment to swiftly address the needs of affected communities and ensure healthcare access remains a top priority.
