Manila, January 7, 2026 — The Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) fell slightly on Wednesday, closing at 6,292.09 points, down 25.82 points or 0.41 percent from the previous session, as mixed movements across sectors tempered market sentiment.

The broader All Shares Index managed a small gain, rising 5.84 points or 0.16 percent to 3,594.19, signaling that some sectors still drew investor interest despite the dip in the main index. The Industrial and Mining & Oil sectors led the day with gains of 0.63 percent and 0.81 percent, respectively, while Services, Holding Firms, and Financials posted losses.

“The market showed a mixed performance today, reflecting cautious trading as investors digest economic data and corporate developments,” said a market analyst.

Investors are keeping a close watch on key economic indicators and company earnings reports as the market navigates early-year volatility. While the slight pullback may signal caution, gains in major sectors like Mining & Oil suggest selective opportunities remain for traders.
