PSEi Flat At 6,093 As Investors Stay Cautious

The Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) barely moved on Thursday, October 16, 2025, closing slightly lower by 0.43 points or 0.007 percent at 6,093.67, as investors remained cautious amid mixed market signals.
Trading was relatively active, with a total value turnover of ₱9.8 billion. Market breadth was positive, posting 108 gainers, 92 losers, and 58 unchanged issues.
Foreign investors, however, were net sellers for the day, logging ₱2.93 billion in foreign selling against ₱2.78 billion in foreign buying, resulting in net foreign outflows of ₱148.75 million.
Analysts said investors were mostly on the sidelines as they awaited fresh catalysts — including potential policy signals from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and new inflation data expected later this month.
Despite the flat close, traders noted the PSEi’s resilience above the 6,000 mark, suggesting continued support from bargain hunters.
