The Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) edged higher on Thursday, October 23, 2025, closing at 6,053.96, up by 23.09 points or 0.38 percent, as investors showed renewed confidence despite cautious trading.

Trading activity was relatively light, with a total value turnover of PHP 4.8 billion. Market breadth was nearly balanced — 92 issues advanced, 99 declined, while 68 remained unchanged.

Foreign investors remained active, logging foreign buying of PHP 2.35 billion against foreign selling of PHP 2.34 billion, resulting in a net foreign buying of PHP 5.43 million.

While the index continues to hover around the 6,000 mark, analysts say the steady inflows from foreign funds signal gradual optimism in the local market as traders await more economic data and corporate earnings results.
