PSEi Slips Below 5,940 As Investors Turn Cautious

The local stock market kicked off the week on a weaker note as the Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) slid 54.26 points, or 0.91%, to close at 5,933.76 on Monday, October 27, 2025.
Trading remained subdued, with a total value turnover of ₱18.7 billion as most investors stayed on the sidelines amid mixed market signals. Market breadth was negative — 131 issues declined, 55 advanced, and 59 were unchanged.
Foreign investors were net sellers for the day, recording ₱2.41 billion in buying against ₱2.72 billion in selling, resulting in a net outflow of ₱313.66 million.
Analysts said the pullback reflected lingering investor caution as global and domestic factors continued to cloud sentiment. Many traders are watching for fresh cues from upcoming economic data releases and policy developments that could influence short-term direction.
