PSEi Snaps Winning Streak, Retreats Amid Cautious Trading

MANILA—The Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) closed lower on Monday, September 22, 2025, ending a four-session winning streak as investors took a cautious stance. The benchmark index shed 49.66 points, or 0.79 percent, to finish the trading day at 6,214.83.
The broader All Shares Index also declined, falling 11.52 points, or 0.31 percent, to end at 3,729.29.
The day's market activity saw a total value turnover of PHP5.0 billion. Trading was mixed, with 113 issues advancing, 90 declining, and 51 remaining unchanged.
Foreign investors were net sellers for the session, with foreign selling outweighing foreign buying by PHP343.27 million. This net foreign selling contributed to the market’s downward pressure.
Among the sectoral indices, financials took the biggest hit, while mining and oil stocks bucked the trend with notable gains.
