A heated road rage incident along Marcos Highway in Antipolo City took a terrifying turn on Sunday afternoon when an argument escalated into gunfire, leaving four people injured.
From Argument to Gunfire
The altercation broke out around 5:00 PM in front of Café Sinauna, Barangay San Jose. What started as a verbal exchange quickly turned violent when the suspect, identified only as Kenneth, allegedly pulled out a gun and opened fire.
Four people were hit in the chaos:
• “Peter” (52, businessman) suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
• “Patrick” (22, college student) was shot in the right arm.
• “Davis” (29) was hit in the chest while trying to break up the fight.
• Kenneth’s live-in partner was also wounded, sustaining a gunshot wound to the thigh.
Police Chase Ends in Arrest
After the shooting, the suspect attempted to escape in his black Toyota Fortuner, but Antipolo police quickly launched a pursuit. Thanks to a coordinated effort under OPLAN COBWEB, officers intercepted Kenneth at a checkpoint in Masinag, Barangay Mayamot, preventing any further threat to the public.
Authorities Call for Witnesses
Antipolo Police Chief PLTCOL Ryan Lopez Manongdo praised his team’s swift response and assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway. “We urge anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward and help with the case,” he said.
The suspect is now in police custody, with charges being prepared. Meanwhile, the victims are receiving treatment at Cabading Hospital.
This incident serves as a grim reminder of how quickly tempers on the road can spiral out of control.
