Former Speaker of the House Martin Romualdez broke his silence on Tuesday, saying he has nothing to hide and is ready to fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation into the alleged anomalies in flood control projects.
In an official statement, Romualdez said he appeared before the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) to help uncover the truth, emphasizing his belief in transparency and accountability.
“Wala akong itinatago at walang dapat itago,” Romualdez declared. “While I was not part of the bicameral conference committee, whatever I know, I will share.”
He explained that his purpose in attending was to clarify issues and provide any information that could assist the Commission in its work.
“I have always believed in transparency and accountability,” he said. “That’s why I am here today—to do my part in ensuring that the truth comes out.”
Romualdez also said he’s willing to do anything that would help speed up the investigation, noting that, like every Filipino, he wants the truth to be established “without delay.”
“At the end of the day, it is evidence—not political noise or unfounded accusations—that will reveal what really happened,” he added. “My presence here reflects my commitment to state the truth and not allow politics to prevail.”
