Ronald Cardema Asks Supreme Court To Lift Suspension On Duterte Youth Proclamation

In a new legal move, Duterte Youth Partylist Chairperson Ronald Cardema has turned to the Supreme Court, filing a Petition for Certiorari along with an urgent prayer for a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO).

This comes just a day after the Duterte Youth Partylist’s proclamation was suspended—a decision that has put their supposed three seats in Congress on hold.

According to Cardema, the suspension is unjust and hampers the will of the voters who supported their partylist. By filing the petition, he’s hoping that the Supreme Court will immediately halt the suspension and allow the Duterte Youth representatives to assume their seats in Congress.

The TRO, if granted, would temporarily stop the implementation of the suspension while the case is being reviewed. This legal step could pave the way for the partylist to finally secure its spot in the House of Representatives.

It’s a developing story, and all eyes are now on how the Supreme Court will respond to Cardema’s plea.
