Actress and comedienne Rufa Mae Quinto has confirmed the death of her husband, Trevor Magallanes, in a heartfelt message shared publicly as she and their daughter prepare to fly to the United States.

“This is a very painful time for us,” Rufa Mae wrote. “We are still gathering factual information about what happened. Even Trevor’s immediate family is still verifying the details. I ask everyone—his friends, the public—to please stop spreading speculations or false information.”

Rufa Mae expressed the weight of the loss not only for herself but for their daughter, emphasizing the need for space, time, and prayers as they navigate this tragedy. “Hope you give us time to mourn his loss, especially my daughter. Just pray for us that we will get through this with the help of God.”

She also made it clear that any official statements regarding her husband’s death will come directly from her or Trevor’s family, not from unverified sources.

The news comes just over a year after Rufa Mae opened up about the challenges in their marriage. In a candid interview on Fast Talk With Boy Abunda in January 2024, she revealed that she and Trevor were “going through something,” though no divorce had been filed at the time—contrary to an earlier statement from Trevor suggesting they were already in the process of legal separation in the U.S.

“There’s no divorce filed,” she had said then. “Hindi ako nag-file. Ang dami ko nang kaso, ayoko na muna magdagdag.” Despite the strain, she had expressed hope they could still resolve their issues and keep their family together.

Rufa Mae also acknowledged Trevor’s desire for privacy, describing him as someone who wasn’t comfortable with the limelight and showbiz talk. “Mabuti siyang ama at asawa,” she said. “Pero nasasaktan siya sa mga tsismis.”

Despite their personal struggles, Rufa Mae remained devoted to her family. “Mahal ko siya. Gusto ko talaga makumpleto ang pamilya namin,” she said at the time, while also preparing herself emotionally in case the relationship could no longer be mended.

Now, just months later, she faces a loss far deeper than separation.

In closing her public message on Trevor’s passing, Rufa Mae wrote with raw emotion:

“Hanggang sa huli… Hanggang sa muli. Mahal kita, Trev.”

As the public mourns alongside her, she continues to ask for one thing above all: respect and prayers for their grieving family.
