LAS VEGAS — Samsung Electronics is pushing the boundaries of the smart home with its Bespoke AI appliances, designed to evolve everyday devices into what the company calls “Home Companions.” The vision was unveiled during a Deep Dive session at CES 2026, highlighting how AI-powered appliances can seamlessly connect through SmartThings to adapt intelligently to users’ lifestyles.
Led by Cheolgi Kim, Head of Samsung’s Digital Appliances (DA) Business, the session showcased appliances equipped with Bixby voice recognition, screens, and cameras, allowing them to see, hear, and proactively respond to household needs. These capabilities extend beyond appliances to TVs and mobile devices, creating a connected ecosystem aimed at making everyday living smarter and easier.
“Samsung’s ultimate goal is to enable a better living through Bespoke AI,” said Cheolgi Kim. “Through our extensive ecosystem that connects devices across DX products — including mobile phones and TV — and our appliances’ unique form factors, we are providing differentiated experiences to our consumers and creating more value through those experiences.”
Samsung also highlighted regional strategies for 2026. In North America, appliances like the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo and unified kitchen packages with stainless steel designs are expected to drive growth. Europe will see a focus on energy-efficient appliances, including washers that are up to 65% more efficient than the minimum energy class A requirement, alongside advanced HVAC and built-in kitchen products designed for sustainability. Meanwhile, Latin America is seeing strong demand for laundry and air conditioning solutions, and Asia is increasingly embracing smart home ecosystems with localized AI features like regional language support and expanded AI Energy Mode.
“At Samsung, we aim to deliver meaningful AI experiences that are deeply aligned with local lifestyles and needs,” said JS Moon, EVP and Head of R&D for the DA Business. “As such, we will keep enhancing these regional features and expand core AI features such as AI Energy Mode to a wider range of price points and product types beyond premium lineups.”
Looking ahead, Samsung plans to extend AI integration beyond traditional appliances into areas such as HVAC, modular homes, and insurance-based care, aiming to make connected living practical, trusted, and deeply aligned with everyday life. By combining open collaboration, regional customization, and long-term software support, Samsung hopes to reduce household burdens while delivering AI experiences that truly feel personal.
