Sara Duterte Asks Supreme Court To Reject House Appeal On Impeachment Ruling

Vice President Sara Duterte has formally asked the Supreme Court to dismiss the House of Representatives’ bid to overturn the ruling that voided her impeachment case.
In a comment submitted to the High Court, Duterte argued that the House’s Motion for Reconsideration, filed on August 4, does not hold ground. She stressed that the Court’s earlier decision should stand, describing it as firm and beyond factual dispute.
“The Decision requires no factual correction: it rests on an unshaken foundation of truth,” her filing stated.
The House of Representatives had argued that the ruling misinterpreted the sequence of events, particularly in relation to the filing and handling of multiple impeachment complaints. Duterte, however, countered that these claims do not amount to factual errors that could justify revisiting the judgment.
By standing firm, the Vice President is essentially asking the Supreme Court to close the door on the House’s attempts to revive the impeachment proceedings, framing the ruling as both accurate and final.
