Sara Duterte Slams Back As Impeachment Talk Heats Up Again

Vice President Sara Duterte isn’t holding back. In a strong statement released on December 8, 2025, she called out the renewed talk in the House of Representatives about another impeachment complaint—calling it predictable and politically timed.

According to Duterte, this move follows a pattern that’s been happening for years. She recalled how Sen. Francis Escudero, Rep. Toby Tiangco, and other lawmakers previously revealed that as early as February 2024, some groups were already gathering impeachment signatures in exchange for budget allocations.

For her, this exposes a harsh truth: “The impeachment complaint against me was never driven by principle, but by price.”

Despite those serious claims, Duterte pointed out that no investigation was ever launched to find out who may have misused billions of pesos for political maneuvering instead of public service.

And now, she said, impeachment is once again being floated—right as the 2026 National Budget is about to be passed.

“To those who continue to exploit the impeachment process, stop hiding behind the language of ‘good governance,’” she said, stressing that she’s always ready to face any accusation as long as it’s grounded in fact and truth.

What she refuses to accept, she added, is the use of impeachment as a “budget-driven racket.”
