Sara Duterte Still Leads 2028 Presidential Race, Bong Go Tops VP Survey - WR Numero

Vice President Sara Duterte remains the frontrunner in the 2028 presidential race, earning 31.4% in WR Numero Research’s latest pre-election survey. While her support dropped by seven points from April 2025, she maintains a strong lead over her closest rivals.

Former Vice President and current Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo follows with 13.3% (+0.4), edging slightly higher than in the previous survey. Senator Raffy Tulfo comes in third at 10.3% despite a 4.9-point decline, while Senator Bong Go climbs to 6.5% (+3.7). Rounding out the top contenders are Senator Imee Marcos at 4.4% (-0.5), Senator Bam Aquino at 3.1% (new), and Senator Grace Poe at 2.1% (-2.6).

Other presidential hopefuls include Senator Robin Padilla with 2% (-0.3), Senator Risa Hontiveros with 1.4% (-0.9), Senator Chiz Escudero at 1.3% (new), former Senator Manny Pacquiao with 1% (-0.4), Speaker of the Hpuse Martin Romualdez at 0.7% (+0.1), and Senator Win Gatchalian at 0.1% (new). Meanwhile, 18% of respondents remain undecided (+5) and 4.3% chose “none of the above” (+1.7).

For the vice-presidential race, Senator Bong Go tops the list with 16.2% despite a 6.9-point drop. He is trailed closely by Senator Raffy Tulfo at 14.9% (new) and Senator Bam Aquino at 8.4% (new). Other names in the running include Senator Robin Padilla at 7.7% (-0.7), Senator Grace Poe at 6.8% (-5.8), Senator Chiz Escudero at 5.9% (new), Senator Imee Marcos at 4.5% (-2.1), and Senator Risa Hontiveros at 4.3% (new).

Further down the list are former Senator Manny Pacquiao at 1.8% (-3.8), Speaker Martin Romualdez at 1.4% (+0.1), and Senator Win Gatchalian at 0.4% (new). Notably, 23.6% remain undecided (+5.5) and 4.2% say their preferred candidate is not on the list (+0.3).

By region, Duterte’s dominance is most striking in Mindanao, where she commands 66% of presidential preferences. She also leads in the Visayas (31%) and Metro Manila (19%), while in the rest of Luzon she ranks second at 18% behind the undecided bloc (20%). Robredo performs strongest in the Visayas (23%) and rest of Luzon (16%), while Tulfo sees his best numbers in Metro Manila (11%) and the Visayas (12%). Bong Go enjoys strong Mindanao support at 9%, ranking third in the region.

The WR Numero Philippine Public Opinion Monitor survey was conducted from July 29 to August 6, 2025, among 1,418 respondents nationwide.
