SEC Warns Public: Beware of Unauthorized Online Lending Apps

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued a new advisory warning the public against several unauthorized online lending platforms (OLPs) and mobile applications that continue to operate without proper registration or approval.
According to the SEC, these platforms — still available on the Google Play Store, Apple App Store, and various websites — are not authorized to offer or process loans in the Philippines.
Under SEC Memorandum Circular No. 10, Series of 2021, a moratorium on new online lending platforms has been in place since November 2, 2021. This means no new OLPs can legally operate unless officially recorded with the Commission.
Unrecorded OLPs on Google Play Store:
PeraGo: Secure Loans, LoanTayo – Flexible Loans, SeaCash – Safe and Fast Loan, ZRT CREDIT: Loan PH, Bingo Peso: Philippine CashLoan, Peso Maya – Fast Online Loan, Cash Muna, and GZ Lend – Online Cash Loan App.
Unrecorded OLPs on Apple App Store:
Valor Credit – Loan App Quickly 18+, Dolo Loan, Maxi Lending – Loan & Mabilis Cash, Sky Loan – Quick Lending App, VIP Loan – Quick Lending App, AssetCred – Loan App Philippines, PeraOne – Online Mabilis Cash, and Easy Loan – Loan App Philippines.
Websites:
Andali Cash, Cashcano, and Metacash.
The Commission urges borrowers to exercise caution when transacting online and to verify if a lending app is officially registered. Those with concerns or complaints may contact SEC FinLenD at (02) 8818-5990 or reach out through the SEC iMessage Portal.
For the official and updated list of authorized and recorded online lending platforms, visit the SEC website at www.sec.gov.ph.
The SEC also reminded the public:
“Basahin ang kabuuan ng advisory dito: https://www.sec.gov.ph/advisories-2025/advisory-re-undrecorded-online-lending-platforms/ ”
The Commission continues to warn against unrecorded or suspicious lending apps, which may engage in predatory lending practices or misuse personal data. The public is advised to remain vigilant and transact only with verified and legally registered entities.
