Sen. Raffy Tulfo Moves To Cite Curlee Discaya In Contempt For Alleged Lies

Senator Idol Raffy Tulfo has taken a firm stance, moving to cite Pacifico "Curlee" Discaya in contempt after Discaya was accused of spewing lies during a Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing on Thursday, September 18. The motion, seconded by Senator Erwin Tulfo, led the committee, chaired by Senator Ping Lacson, to decide on the contempt citation.
The controversy arose when Discaya was asked to explain the absence of his wife, Cezarah "Sarah" Discaya, from the hearing, which is investigating anomalous flood control projects. Curlee Discaya initially claimed his wife was unable to attend due to a heart condition. However, this statement directly contradicted a letter previously sent to the committee, which cited a scheduled meeting with her employees as the reason for her absence.
As Discaya attempted to offer further explanations, he reportedly deepened his predicament by stating his wife suffers from diabetes and hypertension, which Senator Raffy Tulfo argued only served to further expose his inconsistencies.
"Very inconsistent ang pinagsasabi nito! Mag-asawa sila at imposibleng hindi sila nag-uusap sa health condition ng misis niya. Pinagloloko tayo ng mga 'to!" Senator Raffy exclaimed, expressing his frustration. He also warned that he would be revealing more information that would further expose the Discayas' alleged deceptions.
