The Commission on Elections (Comelec), through its Task Force SAFE (Safeguarding Against Fear and Exclusion in Elections), has filed a disqualification case against him—and it’s all because of some controversial remarks he made during the campaign trail.
Yep, you read that right. The case was filed motu proprio, which basically means Comelec took the initiative to act on its own, without waiting for someone to file a complaint first. That’s how seriously they took Sia’s comments, especially the ones involving single mothers.
