Sniper Attack On Espinosa: 7 Ormoc Cops Now Persons Of Interest
Screengrab from Rolan Espinosa
In a shocking turn of events in Leyte, seven members of the Ormoc City Police are now in hot water after being tagged as persons of interest in the recent shooting of self-confessed drug lord-turned-politician Rolan “Kerwin” Espinosa.

Espinosa, who is running for mayor of Albuera, Leyte, was gunned down around 4 PM on April 10 while campaigning in Brgy. Tinag-an. Early investigation points to a sniper as the one behind the attack, which also left two others injured.

But here’s where things get even more intriguing: right after the shooting, witnesses reported seeing an SUV speed away from the scene. Police gave chase, and the vehicle eventually entered a compound—where officers found seven individuals from the Ormoc City PNP, all in civilian clothes.

Those seven are now under custody, including two police officials and five non-commissioned officers. While authorities have yet to confirm their exact involvement, their presence in that SUV right after the shooting raises a lot of red flags.

As of now, Espinosa is still recovering, and the investigation is ongoing. This incident is bound to stir more questions, especially with the election season heating up and Espinosa’s controversial past casting a long shadow over current events.
