In the wake of a tragic accident along the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has taken swift action against Solid North Bus. Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon has directed the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to issue an immediate suspension order on the bus company’s operations.

The decision came just hours after the fatal crash was reported earlier today. While full details of the incident are still being gathered, the severity of the situation pushed the DOTr to act fast in prioritizing commuter safety.

As of now, the number of casualties and the exact cause of the accident have yet to be officially confirmed. Authorities are expected to release more information soon as investigations continue.

The suspension order means Solid North’s units will be pulled off the roads temporarily while the LTFRB and other agencies conduct a thorough review of the company’s safety practices and compliance history.

This developing story is likely to stir more discussions around road safety and accountability in public transportation. Updates will follow as more details come in.
