In a major move following a tragic multi-vehicle collision along the SCTEX in Tarlac, Pangasinan Solid North Transit Inc. (PSNTI) has announced it is temporarily halting all of its operations. This comes after the Department of Transportation (DOTr) issued a directive suspending the company’s entire fleet.
In an official statement released Saturday, Solid North said it is complying with the DOTr’s order and will be suspending all trips effective immediately. “Unless otherwise provided, all trips of PSNTI are temporarily suspended,” the company said, adding that passengers with existing bookings may request cancellations or exercise other options.
The bus company, which services key routes in Northern Luzon, expressed deep sympathy for those affected by the SCTEX incident. “We are one with the Nation in sympathizing with those affected by this unfortunate event,” the statement read.
Solid North also addressed concerns about safety and accountability, acknowledging the gravity of the situation. “As a bus operator, we’ve always strived to continuously provide the best for our passengers. However, some uncontrollable factors get even the best of us that lead to this isolated case,” the company stated. “We understand the severity of the situation, and we will be responsible and accountable for it.”
For now, passengers are urged to monitor Solid North’s official channels for updates on when operations might resume. The company has not yet indicated a timeline for its return.
