Sea travel remains dangerous, with waves reaching up to 9 meters in Romblon’s coastal waters. Small boats and motorbancas are strongly advised to stay in port.

What’s Next for Opong

After crossing Romblon, Opong is expected to make landfall over southern Occidental Mindoro by noon or early afternoon, then exit toward the Mindoro Strait by tonight. It could regain strength over the West Philippine Sea before leaving the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Saturday afternoon, September 27.

PAGASA urges residents in flood-prone and coastal areas to remain alert, follow evacuation orders, and closely monitor updates. The next advisory will be released at 2:00 p.m. today.
