The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) has released its latest report on the impact of Super Typhoon Nando and the Habagat (monsoon). As of 5:00 AM on September 23, 2025, the report provides a clear picture of the storm’s effects and the ongoing response.
The storm caused significant disruptions, with 638 cities and municipalities suspending work and 674 halting classes. Many vital services were hit hard. Humanitarian aid was a top priority, with the government providing 4,903 food and non-food items, assisting 4,872 families. An additional P4 million in financial aid was given to 7,520 families.
Rescue and response teams are working tirelessly. A total of 2,838 personnel from the AFP, BFP, PNP, and PCG have been deployed. Using 256 land assets and 21 sea assets, they have successfully assisted or rescued 11,903 people.
Restoration efforts are also underway. Debris clearing is ongoing with 47 pieces of equipment and 314 personnel on the job. To ensure communication, emergency telecommunications systems, including Starlink, have been set up. Additionally, 32 schools and 84 classrooms are being used as evacuation centers.
