Taal Volcano Records Early Morning Minor Eruption; Alert Level Remains At 1
Screengrab from Phivolcs
Taal Volcano, located in the province of Batangas, experienced a minor phreatomagmatic eruption early this morning, October 1, 2025.

The event, which occurred at 2:02 AM, was successfully captured by the thermal camera at the Taal Volcano Observatory (TVO) and the IP camera at the Main Crater Observation station (VTMC).

This eruption produced a plume estimated to have reached 2,500 meters high before drifting in a northwesterly direction.

Despite the occurrence, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) has maintained the alert level for Taal Volcano at 1, which means the volcano is still under an abnormal state. This serves as a reminder that although the activity is currently minor, potential unrest may still occur.

Authorities and residents are advised to remain vigilant and follow official advisories from PHIVOLCS.
