TD Verbena Hits Surigao; More Areas Under Signal No. 1

Tropical Depression Verbena has made landfall in Bayabas, Surigao del Sur and is now crossing Agusan del Norte, bringing rains and gusty winds across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

As of 4 PM, Verbena has 45 km/h winds and 75 km/h gusts, moving west-northwest at 30 km/h.

Mindoro, Romblon, Palawan, Masbate, Cebu, Bohol, Negros, Samar, Leyte, Iloilo, Dinagat Islands, Surigao, Agusan, Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, and nearby areas.

• Heavy rain from the storm, amihan, and shear line
• Possible floods and landslides
• Rough to very rough seas; travel risky for small boats

Verbena will move across Visayas and northern Palawan tonight until Tuesday and exit to the West Philippine Sea by Wednesday, where it may strengthen.
