Teodoro Sues 2 Cops Over 'Fabricated' Assault Claims

Marikina Rep. Marcelino “Marcy” Teodoro is fighting back.
On Monday, the lawmaker filed a perjury complaint against two female police officers who earlier accused him of acts of lasciviousness and sexual assault. Teodoro said the allegations are false, politically motivated, and part of a smear campaign to destroy his reputation.
“Matatag ang loob kong makakamit ko ang hustisya... Pero kailangan managot ang mga nagsisinungaling (I am confident I will get justice, but those who lie must be held responsible),” Teodoro told reporters after filing the case at the Manila Prosecutor’s Office.
He added, “The justice system should never be used as a weapon to destroy the innocent. Tigilan na ang maduming politika (Stop the dirty politics).”
Teodoro’s lawyer, Atty. Alma Mallonga, insisted that the accusations were “clearly fabricated,” saying the two policewomen even admitted there was no force, threat, or intimidation involved.
“Cong. Marcy had no weapon. Meanwhile, the complainants were armed with their service guns. The claim of rape is simply unbelievable,” Mallonga said.
She added that witnesses confirmed Teodoro was never alone with the complainants, and that they even continued to report for work normally after the alleged incidents.
Under the Perjury Law (Republic Act 11594), anyone found guilty of lying under oath can face up to 12 years in prison, a ₱1 million fine, and permanent disqualification from public office if the offender is a government official.
The Marikina City Police earlier said the two complainants have been reassigned to Camp Crame for their safety while the investigation continues.
As the case unfolds, Teodoro says he remains confident the truth will clear his name — and that justice will catch up with those he accuses of spreading lies.
