The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) confirmed Thursday evening that three more Filipino crew members of MV Eternity C, which came under attack by Houthi forces, have been rescued. This brings the total number of rescued Filipino seafarers to eight so far.

DMW Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac shared the update as government agencies maintain close coordination with the shipowners and licensed manning agencies involved, monitoring ongoing search and rescue efforts. Authorities remain hopeful that the remaining seafarers can still be found alive.

Acting under a “one country-team approach” as directed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the DMW is also working hand-in-hand with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to facilitate the safe and timely repatriation of the rescued seafarers. Both agencies continue to verify significant developments related to the incident.

In addition, the DMW is in constant communication with the families of the affected seafarers, assuring them of the government’s full support and assistance throughout this challenging time.

“The safety and well-being of our seafarers remain our utmost priority,” Secretary Cacdac emphasized, reiterating the government’s commitment to bringing every Filipino crew member home safely.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing. The DMW and its partners urge the public to remain hopeful and to keep the missing crew and their families in their thoughts.
