Tito Sotto On Possible Senate Comeback: 'May Kumakausap Na-Pero Hindi Ako Namimilit'
Looks like we might see a familiar face back in the Senate’s top post.

In a recent interview, Senator-elect Tito Sotto candidly admitted that there have already been talks about him possibly becoming the Senate President again in the upcoming 20th Congress. Yes, you read that right—Sotto might just be eyeing his old seat, but only if the numbers are right.

“I’d be lying if I say no. May mga kumakausap na sa’kin,” he revealed. According to Sotto, about three to four senators have already reached out to him about the possibility.

But true to his style, Sotto made it clear that he’s not the type to go around pushing for signatures or actively campaigning for the post. “Alam niyo naman ako. Hindi ako yung tipong nagpapa-pirma para suportahan ako. Hindi ako ganon,” he said.

Still, he didn’t close the door. In fact, he admitted that if 13 senators—more than half of the chamber—throw their support behind him, he’s game. “Sabi ko naman if we have 13, I will accept,” he said.

With the next Congress just around the corner, we’ll have to wait and see if the numbers—and the stars—align for another Sotto-led Senate. But one thing’s for sure: he’s not chasing the position, but he’s not walking away from it either.
