Toyota Aisin Philippines Inc. (TAP) is keeping the power flowing—literally. The manufacturer has once again renewed its retail electricity supply agreement with MPower, the retail energy arm of Meralco, reinforcing a solid partnership that has powered its operations for over a decade.
For TAP, this isn’t just about keeping the lights on. As the first Toyota manual transmission manufacturing plant outside Japan, the company plays a crucial role in the global supply chain, exporting 95% of its drivetrain components to Toyota plants worldwide. That kind of production requires a reliable and cost-effective energy source, which MPower has consistently delivered.
“At TAP, we continuously seek partners who not only share our values but also contribute to advancing our operational excellence and sustainability goals,” said TAP Acting General Manager Allan Cantal. “MPower has been instrumental in ensuring our manufacturing processes run smoothly while aligning with our commitment to clean and renewable energy.”
This partnership has already seen significant milestones, including TAP’s transition to 100% renewable energy back in December 2019—a move in line with Toyota’s global carbon neutrality goals. And MPower is all in for the long haul.
“We are honored to continue our partnership with Toyota Aisin Philippines, a company that shares our vision for sustainability and innovation,” said Redel Domingo, Meralco First Vice President and MPower Head. “By offering competitive energy prices and reliable power solutions, we help Toyota stay competitive in its industry.”
With this renewed agreement, TAP and MPower are proving that strong collaborations can drive both business success and sustainability forward—one powered gear at a time.
