U.S. Files Formal Request To Extradite Quiboloy, Says PH Envoy

Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose Manuel Romualdez has confirmed that the U.S. government has formally requested the extradition of Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder Apollo Quiboloy, who faces a string of serious charges abroad.
“The extradition documents are now with the DOJ for their perusal,” Romualdez said, referring to the Department of Justice (DOJ) in Manila.
Quiboloy, a self-proclaimed religious leader, has been indicted in the U.S. for alleged sex trafficking, fraud, coercion, and cash smuggling. American authorities have long sought his extradition after cases were filed in U.S. courts, but this is the first official confirmation that a formal request has already been transmitted to the Philippine government.
The DOJ is now tasked with reviewing the request before deciding on the next legal steps. Once the department evaluates the documents, the matter could move through the country’s judicial system, which will ultimately determine whether Quiboloy will be surrendered to U.S. custody.
The development marks a significant turn in a case that has drawn both international attention and domestic controversy, as Quiboloy continues to wield considerable influence in the Philippines.
