Vantage Energy, an affiliate retail electricity supplier of Manila Electric Company (Meralco), has teamed up with CVC Asia to help key Visayas-based businesses tap into the Competitive Retail Electricity Market (CREM). The goal: boost operational efficiency, reduce costs, and support sustainability across CVC’s Philippine portfolio.
CVC Asia—the private equity arm of global private markets manager CVC—has steadily grown its presence in the country through investments in Southeast Asia Retail Inc., which operates Landers Superstore, and FAST Services Corp., a vital division of FAST Logistics Group.
“This collaboration exemplifies how we engage with our investee companies to unlock meaningful, long-term value,” said Brice Cu, Senior Managing Director and Country Head of the Philippines at CVC. “By facilitating access to more sustainable and cost-efficient electricity, we’re driving both operational savings and future resilience.”
Under the partnership, Landers Bacolod and FAST Services’ cold chain facility in Cebu will transition to CREM, which allows contestable customers with a minimum demand of 500 kW to choose their electricity provider under more favorable market conditions.
“At Landers, saving on energy isn’t just good business—it’s a way to deliver greater value to over two million members,” shared Bill Cummings, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Landers. “Lower operating costs mean we can pass on real savings to Filipino families.”
Since opening its doors in 2016, Landers Superstore has become a national player in the membership-only warehouse club market, offering a curated mix of local and international products, exclusive perks, fuel discounts, and competitive pricing. Meanwhile, FAST Services plays a critical role in moving goods efficiently across the country, specializing in warehousing, distribution, and transportation solutions.
For Vantage Energy, this partnership highlights its mission to empower the retail and logistics sectors through tailored energy solutions. “This is more than just a business arrangement—it’s a shared vision to redefine how energy is sourced, delivered, and experienced,” said Ernesto M. Cabral, Vantage Energy President. “By participating in the Customer Choice Programs of the ERC, you’re not only optimizing your energy portfolio but also leading the way in adopting progressive energy models that benefit both your organizations and the wider community.”
Through this alliance, Vantage Energy and CVC Asia aim to set a benchmark for how businesses can align sustainability, efficiency, and long-term success in the evolving Philippine energy market.
