Vice Mayor Sebastian Duterte Files Cases Against Officials Over Father's Arrest

Sebastian Duterte, who serves as both the vice mayor and acting mayor of Davao City, has formally lodged nine criminal cases with the Office of the Ombudsman for Mindanao. The complaints, filed at 8:55 a.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025, allege kidnapping and a number of other crimes.
The list of named respondents in the complaint includes Secretary Juan Victor Remulla, Secretary Gilbert Teodoro, Secretary Eduardo Año, Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, Undersecretary Nicholas Felix Ty, PGen Rommel Francisco Marvin, PGen Nicolas Deloso Torre, Markus Lacanilao, Prosecutor Richard Anthony Fadullon, PGen Jean Fajardo, and other unnamed "John Does."
The charges, which include kidnapping and arbitrary detention, are reportedly linked to the arrest and subsequent transfer of his father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, to the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands.
