Visa And Mastercard Now Accepted At MRT-3: A Smoother Ride With Contactless Payments

Commuting on MRT-3 just got a lot easier.
In a move toward more convenient and modern travel, MRT-3 stations now accept all Mastercard and Visa debit and credit cards for fare payments. That means passengers can simply tap their card at the station turnstiles—no more lining up to reload or buy tickets.
The newly installed contactless payment terminals are now fully operational across all MRT-3 stations. Whether you’re using a local or international card, as long as it carries the Visa or Mastercard logo and is contactless-enabled, you’re good to go.
For those whose cards aren’t working, the issue may be the older EMV chip technology. Commuters are encouraged to coordinate with their banks to upgrade their cards and enjoy seamless entry and exit from the train system.
This upgrade is part of the government’s broader push for digitalization and ease of access in public transport, helping reduce queues, cut down travel time, and provide a more efficient commuting experience overall.
