The pressure is closing in on contractor Sarah Discaya as President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced that an arrest warrant is expected to be issued within the week for her alleged role in the controversial ghost flood control project in Davao Occidental.

In a video message Tuesday, Marcos said:

“Inaasahan na din nating lalabas ang warrant of arrest ni Sarah Discaya itong linggong ito… at hindi na rin magtatagal ang pag-aresto sa kanya.”

According to the President, Discaya isn’t the only one feeling the heat. At least eight DPWH personnel involved in the alleged scheme have already signaled their intent to surrender to the NBI ahead of the warrants.

Marcos kept their identities under wraps but stressed that the crackdown is just beginning.

He vowed that the government will push the investigation forward, hold those accountable, and ensure taxpayers’ money finds its way back to the public.

“Magpapatuloy ang imbestigasyon. Magpapatuloy ang pagpapanagot… at sisiguraduhin ng pamahalaan na ang pera ng bayan ay maibabalik sa taumbayan.”

The PNP’s intelligence and tracker teams are now on the move, actively searching for Discaya and others linked to the bogus flood control project in Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental.

Last week, Marcos revealed that the Office of the Ombudsman had recommended filing charges, including malversation through falsification and violations of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act (RA 3019), against Discaya and her alleged cohorts.
