Widespread Class Suspensions On July 24 Amid Heavy Rains From Southwest Monsoon

Due to continued heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon or habagat, classes at all levels are suspended on July 24, 2025, in several provinces and key areas across the country. The announcement, issued by the Presidential Communications Office, covers over 40 provinces including Metro Manila, Cavite, Batangas, and Pampanga.

The move aims to ensure the safety of students and school personnel as persistent rainfall continues to trigger flooding and transportation challenges in many areas.

Despite the class suspensions, essential government services—particularly those in health, security, and disaster response—will remain fully operational. Agencies providing these services are expected to continue their duties to support affected communities.

For other government offices and agencies, non-vital employees may adopt alternative work arrangements, subject to the decision of their respective agency heads.

Residents are advised to stay updated through official government channels and continue observing safety protocols, especially in flood-prone and landslide-risk areas.
