The Philippine weather bureau is closely monitoring a low pressure area (LPA) that was spotted at 3:00 PM over the coastal waters of San Fernando City in La Union. This weather system, combined with the continued effect of the southwest monsoon, is expected to bring scattered to widespread rains across several parts of the country over the next 24 hours.

The LPA is currently bringing cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rain and thunderstorms over the Ilocos Region and Zambales, with the potential for flash floods and landslides due to moderate to heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, Metro Manila, along with the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, other parts of Central Luzon, CALABARZON, and nearby island provinces, is also experiencing scattered rain and thunderstorms. The same risks of flooding and landslides are present, particularly during periods of intense rain.

In the Visayas and Mindanao, as well as in parts of southern Luzon such as Palawan, Albay, and Sorsogon, rains are being driven by the southwest monsoon. These areas may continue to experience cloudy skies, intermittent rain, and occasional thunderstorms. Localized flooding and landslides are possible, especially in low-lying or mountainous regions.

Elsewhere in the country, conditions are generally fair, though isolated thunderstorms may still occur, bringing short bursts of heavy rain in some areas.

While a tropical depression remains far from the Philippine Area of Responsibility—located approximately 2,730 kilometers east of Northern Luzon—it is moving slowly northward and poses no direct threat to the country at this time. It is currently packing maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h, with gusts of up to 55 km/h.

Sea travel remains generally safe but small seacraft are still advised to monitor updates, especially over Northern Luzon, where moderate winds from the southeast to northeast may generate waves up to 2.1 meters. For the rest of the country, wind and sea conditions are expected to remain light to moderate..

Residents in affected areas are advised to remain alert, particularly those living near flood-prone zones or landslide-prone slopes. Weather advisories and updates from PAGASA should be closely followed.
