Zelensky Reveals Daring Drone Operation Right Under FSB's Nose: 'Over 40 Russian Strategic Bombers Taken Out'

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had a lot to say in a bold post on X today—and if what he shared is any indication, Ukraine just pulled off one of its most daring military operations yet, deep inside Russian territory.

“Today, a brilliant operation was carried out,” Zelensky opened, clearly proud. According to him, this wasn’t just any strike—it was one that took over a year and a half to prepare. The craziest part? The operation’s command center inside Russia was right next to an FSB headquarters. That’s like running a secret mission in your enemy’s backyard, with their top spies just a few doors down.

The operation involved 117 drones—yes, one hundred and seventeen—and an equal number of skilled operators. Their main targets? Russian military assets, specifically strategic cruise missile carriers. According to Zelensky, 34% of these key aircraft stationed at air bases were hit. That’s a big dent in Russia’s long-range strike capabilities.

He didn’t mince words about the mission’s success either: “Planning, organisation, every detail was perfectly executed. It can be said with confidence that this was an absolutely unique operation.” And it doesn’t end there—Zelensky revealed that Ukrainian operatives were active across three Russian regions in different time zones, and crucially, everyone involved was safely pulled out before the strike went live.

He said the hit took out over forty units of strategic aviation—that’s not a typo—and emphasized that Ukraine will “continue this work.” According to him, the strike wasn’t just retaliation—it was necessary. “Russia suffered significant losses—entirely justified and deserved,” he stated.

Zelensky also stressed that this operation wasn’t just a one-off show of strength, but a response to rising threats. He said Ukraine had intel that Russia was gearing up for another massive assault, with nearly 500 drones launched last night alone and more missile strikes in the pipeline. “Each week, they have been increasing the number of units used per strike,” he warned, urging Ukrainians not to ignore air raid alerts.

On the diplomatic front, Zelensky again emphasized that Ukraine has been pushing for a ceasefire, even referencing the U.S.-backed proposal that’s been on the table since March 11. But, as he put it, “It was the Russians who chose to continue the war – even under conditions where the entire world is calling for an end to the killing.”

He called for global pressure—through sanctions, military force, and diplomacy—to force Russia back to the negotiating table. He also mentioned an important strategy meeting he held with Ukraine’s top defense, intelligence, and diplomatic officials to prepare for upcoming peace talks in Istanbul.

Still, Zelensky sounded frustrated that Russia hasn’t even shared its version of a peace proposal. “We don't have it, the Turkish side doesn't have it, and the American side doesn't have the Russian document either,” he said. Despite that, Ukraine will still try to make progress.

His final message? Ukraine didn’t want this war. But it will defend itself by every means available.
