Zenmuse L3 Takes Aerial Mapping To New Heights

DJI is pushing the boundaries of aerial mapping once again with the launch of the Zenmuse L3, the company’s first long-range, high-accuracy LiDAR system designed for professional geospatial use.
Built for power and precision, the Zenmuse L3 can detect objects up to 950 meters away, even with just 10% reflectivity—thanks to its advanced 1535 nm LiDAR and dual 100MP RGB cameras. Mounted on DJI’s Matrice 400, it can cover up to 100 square kilometers a day, making large-scale mapping projects faster and more efficient than ever.
Its microsecond-level synchronization and 5mm ranging repeatability ensure centimeter-grade accuracy—ideal for topographic surveys, forestry, energy inspections, and disaster response. The system’s new Star-Shaped scanning mode and support for 16 returns allow it to penetrate dense environments like forests and cities with remarkable detail.
