Romualdez Backs Marcos' Cabinet Revamp: 'The House Is All In'

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. asked his entire Cabinet to submit their courtesy resignations—a clear signal that he’s ready to make serious changes in the way things are run. And right behind him is House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, pledging full support and vowing stronger oversight from Congress moving forward.
“The House of Representatives fully supports President Marcos’ decision to revamp the Cabinet,” Romualdez said on Thursday. “It’s a strong and necessary step—proof that he listens, acknowledges, and acts with resolve.”
The President’s call for a reorganization wasn’t about mass firings. Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin clarified that the resignations give the President room to re-evaluate and rebuild a team that aligns with his vision for more responsive and effective governance.
For Romualdez, this isn’t just about changing names on office doors. It’s about accountability, performance, and real results for the Filipino people.
“As Speaker and leader of the 306-strong House of Representatives, I commend the President’s courage in demanding accountability and realigning governance,” he said. “We’re ready to work with the new Cabinet to create jobs, lower food prices, and improve public service.”
Romualdez also made it clear that Congress isn’t going to sit on the sidelines. He said the House will be more proactive than ever in making sure reforms are carried out properly and in line with the country’s development goals.
“We will sharpen our oversight role and advance his agenda. This is a shared mission by the House and by reform-minded leaders,” he added.
At the end of the day, Romualdez said it best: “What we need now is unity and compassion. I stand with the President. The nation comes first.”
With big changes ahead and a renewed sense of purpose in both the executive and legislative branches, all eyes are on how this Cabinet shake-up will translate into real benefits for ordinary Filipinos.
