Roque Calls Out DOJ Chief Remulla's Claim The Netherlands Has Denied His Asylum Application As Fake News

Former Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque has once again pushed back against a statement made by Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, this time over claims that the Netherlands denied his application for asylum.
In a statement released on June 18, Roque said he was not surprised by what he called the spread of fake news by the Marcos administration, particularly through the Department of Justice. “Strike two na ang DOJ Secretary,” Roque said, referring to earlier accusations from Remulla alleging he held multiple passports. “Ngayon, denied asylum. Ano ito? Nakalap ang impormasyon sa usapang Maritess?” he added, questioning the credibility of the DOJ’s sources.
Roque also addressed rumors that he had fled to Germany, clarifying that his recent trip was a scheduled engagement with the Filipino community there. According to him, he was invited to administer the oathtaking of new members of the group Hakbang ng Maisug Germany, a ceremony he said he attended with fellow advocate Maharlika.
“I am now back at The Hague in the Netherlands,” he stated, refuting suggestions that he had gone into hiding or sought refuge elsewhere.
In a pointed remark, Roque added that there was no need for the government to spend billions in confidential or intelligence funds to track his movements: “Just check my Facebook account. It is all there.”
