SEC Commissioner Hubert Dominic Guevara Passes Away

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) shares the somber news of the passing of Commissioner Hubert Dominic B. Guevara, aged 56, on March 29.

Commissioner Guevara's journey at the SEC began on March 1 when he assumed the role of commissioner, marking a return to the SEC after a distinguished tenure as the director of the former Compliance and Enforcement Department from 2006 to 2010.

During his time as commissioner, he provided astute guidance, overseeing crucial departments such as the Corporate Governance and Finance Department, Office of the General Accountant, and Financing and Lending Companies Division.

Prior to his tenure at the SEC, Commissioner Guevara served as a Senior Deputy Executive Secretary under the Office of the President, demonstrating his commitment to public service.

His legal acumen was further showcased through his role as the managing partner of the Joaquin Guevara Adarlo & Caoile Law Offices.

Additionally, his passion for education led him to impart knowledge in various private learning institutions before embarking on his journey with the SEC in 2004.

Commissioner Guevara's academic journey began at the Ateneo de Manila University, where he earned both his law degree and bachelor’s degree in legal management.
