In response to PAGASA's La Niña Watch, Senator Ramon Bong Revilla, Jr. has once again called on government agencies such as DPWH and MMDA to take proactive steps in preparation for potential natural disasters. Revilla emphasized the importance of being proactive rather than reactive, urging agencies to address issues such as silted rivers and acquire necessary equipment ahead of time.

Speaking in a radio interview, Revilla highlighted the need for agencies to take preemptive measures, citing the importance of preparedness alongside resilience. He stressed the vulnerability of communities to natural calamities and underscored the necessity of being equipped to withstand severe weather conditions.

Revilla revealed ongoing communication with lead agencies and proposed the possibility of conducting a public hearing to assess their preparations. He particularly emphasized the need for updates on the Metro Manila Flood Management Project's progress, including its various components aimed at modernizing drainage, waste management, housing, and resettlement.

With lives and livelihoods at stake, Revilla emphasized the urgency of preparedness, urging DPWH to prioritize flood-prone areas and work closely with communities. He underscored the critical role of timely action in mitigating the impact of disasters and safeguarding Filipino lives and livelihoods.
