Colonel Ranulfo Sevilla vehemently denied allegations of child abuse raised by his estranged wife, Tessa Luz Aura Sevilla, citing his track record of providing for and supporting his children.

He expressed dismay over the accusations and clarified the circumstances surrounding their separation, attributing it to conflicts related to their family situation.

Sevilla also addressed the financial support issue, explaining the complexities of their disputes and asserting his rights as a father to be involved in his children's lives.

He highlighted his efforts to ensure financial assistance despite challenges posed by their strained relationship.

Sevilla concluded by emphasizing his commitment to his children's welfare and his willingness to resolve the issues with his estranged wife, while refuting the accusations of child abuse.

Last March 19, a Commission on Appointments panel decided to bypass the ad interim appointment of Ranulfo Sevilla as Brigadier General of the Armed Forces of the Philippines due to allegations of failing to provide financial support to his underage children.

During the proceedings, Senator Risa Hontiveros suggested formalizing an arrangement where half of Sevilla's base pay would automatically go to his estranged wife every month, a proposal which Sevilla expressed willingness to comply with for the sake of his children.

However, discussions revealed discrepancies in the amount of support offered by Sevilla, prompting further deliberation by the committee.

Eventually, Sevilla offered a monthly support of 50,000 pesos, but the committee decided to delay his promotion until a written agreement on the agreed support amount is reached.

In response, Mrs. Sevilla expressed gratitude to the Commission on Appointments, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing family and advocating for justice.
