'So, So, So Grateful': Nikki Gil Opens Up About Daughter Maddie's Scary Health Battle

Nikki Gil just went through one of the toughest weeks of her life — and as any parent would understand, it involved her child.
In an Instagram post, Nikki shared that her daughter Maddie was recently diagnosed with Kawasaki Disease, a condition that she and her husband had never even heard of before. “Seeing our little girl in pain, hooked to IVs, enduring tests and meds, was the hardest thing we’ve ever gone through as parents,” she wrote. Honestly? Heartbreaking.
But despite the fear and anxiety, Nikki said one thing was constant: God’s presence. She shared how they felt His peace in the middle of chaos, saw His love through the people who surrounded them, and witnessed His grace in Maddie’s healing. “We give Him all the glory for carrying us through and for Maddie’s recovery,” Nikki wrote.
She also expressed her overflowing gratitude to their “village” — the friends and loved ones who showed up with messages, prayers, food, visits, and encouragement. And of course, she gave a special shoutout to their medical team, especially Dr. @romeonuguidmd, calling them “heaven-sent.”
The good news? Maddie is finally home. “We’re finally home with our brave girl,” Nikki said, adding that while recovery is still ongoing, their hearts are “filled with gratitude.”
And we love how she ended her message: “God is so, so, so good.”
